about

This is the soundtrack for my senior thesis project, which was a multi-media sculpture. I was searching for ways to share music that didn't involve performing live or uploading tracks into the hyper-saturated abyss that is the internet.

I'm avoiding going deeper into any of the conceptual dimensions of this piece because that would require describing the sculpture and the experience of interacting with it physically and whatnot. Explaining the art sort of sucks all the magic and mystery out of the work, so I'm not going to do that. You just had to be there.
The soundtrack holds up on its own so I'm sharing that portion of the project with you. Please enjoy.

The album artwork is a cropped portion of the sculpture, specifically the collage that lived inside the sculpture itself. The viewer would sit in a stool and stare at this collage while listening to the soundtrack. Feel free to stare at the album artwork while listening to this track to get a sense of what the piece would've been like in real life.

I made this piece using the school's EMU modular synth, as well as my own Ciat-Lonbarde instruments (Cocoquantus and Plumbutter) and a Make Noise 0-control.

Special Thank You to Barbarita Polster for your guidance and motivation in completing this project, and the many enriching discussions about art and exhibition that you facilitated in class.
Special Thank You to Bob Snyder for your thoughtful feedback and continued mentorship and for teaching me everything I know about modular synthesis.
